Jan 10, 2015 16:48 | #50 Been a while since I posted in this thread. Winter break and traveling a week with the football team for a bowl game has kept me off the hardwood for a few weeks. The result (bad reflections at bottom and right): Same play from overhead: Andrew

Obviously, it's going to be difficult to shoot in these conditions at f5.6. Gear: A lot more than I deserve and a lot less than I want!

My equipment is a major obstacle right now. I really need to get a 24-70 2.8 IS II and a 70-200 2.8 IS II. It is hard to rationalize the purchase when credentials are becoming harder and harder to get. Last year I shot the entire IU season. This year, one game. The Pacers removed half their photographers due to "safety" concerns after Paul George's injury, even though he hit a stanchion and not a photographer. smh Seems like if you aren't working for the team, USA Today, or the major paper in your city, you are left out to dry.

Great photos by the way, real realistic action, I'm a writer who is starting to take more photos and looking for the perfect set up. I have a Canon 60D and a Sigma 18-250mm f/3.5-5.6 HSM OS Macro lens. I shoot indoors so looking for a good prime lens, or, two, thinking canon f/1.8 50mm and canon f/2.0 100mm . Do I need OS for prime lenses ? Thanks for your help . I have plenty of light in the arena where I shoot so I usually close it down slightly to f /3.2 for that little bit more depth of field. The photographers for the local newspaper are usually shooting at f /4 with their 1Dx's. If I am at a location where lighting is a problem, I will be shooting wide open.
