There will be some on this forum far more qualified than me to give you an answer though. Whichever, it is a great picture! Mike

sandpiper Cream of the Crop  More info | Stonechat. The buff colouration is solid for the whole underside, whereas on a whinchat it would fade, the colour being mainly on the upper part of the breast. Also, as Mike has said, it would be very unusual to see a whinchat here at this time of year.
