Hi All, So i've been going down a slope of feeling negative about my shooting and i want to see where i can improve.

Could you please take a few moments to look over my page and have a look at a few albums to see if you can give any feedback?

I would post pics on here but i have too many and too wide a range to narrow it down.

I REALLY appreciate your time and feedback.

Any feedback you get linking to a whole page will be vague snd general. Post a few here for better feedback.

I'll see if i can get online in a bit (on work computer and it's pretty locked down) and post stuff directly.

Any feedback is welcome.

I took a quick glance at them. Keeping in mind that cars aren't my thing, here are a few things I found myself thinking:

1) So many of the shots just look like snapshots - in that I mean it doesn't look like many of them were the result of really thinking about the best angles and perspectives.

2) The shots with spectators in the background milling around really contributed to the feeling of #1.

3) There are a couple cool shots that did stand out due to their perspective and style - the panning shots, some of the burnout ones shot low and with clean backgrounds, etc.

Honest Feedback?

If photography is your hobby, your Facebook page is an interesting page by someone who likes taking photographs of cars.

If it is the website for your business and you are trying to earn a living from photography you need to get a better web page. It "says" to me, you are a person taking shots for friends (like my personal Facebook.) It does not demonstrate that the photographer is a professional worth hiring. IMO, even if the photographs were exquisite, the medium of presentation still says amateur....

So the use of Facebook is not the best for encouraging prospective clients but the images are ok? Should i look at totally seperate page or can you recommend a good medium?

Now if your question is how to improve your actual photos, forget using Facebook for hosting your photos for us to view them.

First, Facebook strips the EXIF data from the photographs so you can't find out if the photos were taken with a Canon 1dx with a 70-200 2.8 IS II or just with a cellphone. Instead upload some photos to Flickr. That will make it much easier for us to determine what is going on with your photos.

Many people consider using a computer "looking at Facebook". It is good for a photographer to have a Facebook page for that reason. But, an experienced client is going to compare your website to other pro's sites. For example, most of the websites I have examined that I really liked were wedding photographer's sites. Even though the subject matter is totally different, I personally would still compare your "Facebook" with a Wedding Photographer's site that impressed me.

Keep the Facebook page, but in the About section at least have a link to a site like Smugmug where people can purchase your images if they wish.
