Hi all,

I've had my EOS 350D a little over a month now, and I'm starting to (try) and get to grips with RAW.
there are two questions Im needing answered. first, what's the best two options as far as software is concerned (preferably for ease and speed of use).
And second, my most major worry, is, exposure, and how to correct it in RAW.
But i have to say I am extremely confused. I have a fotopic website covering one of my photography interests, trains here in the UK.
What is really confusing me is that on looking at my images on different monitors (EG CRT) (I use a 19" TFT) the pictures look very dark, but look fine on my monitor! I'd really appreciate if folks could have a good look (at the 4 latest galleries) and give me some feedback on how the images look and what, if anything I am doing wrong!

Get this book (external link) even if you're not using CS2. I love CS2 for it's image quality and workflow, but RawShooter Essentials is free and many people love it. I don't.

You need to calibrate your monitors, I use a monaco calibration system that cost about US$250 I think.

If you have Photoshop CS2, just use the built in Camera Raw capability. Powerful and easy to work with, especially with Fraser's book. If you don't have CS2 and don't plan to get it, Rawshooter Essentials might do the trick. While I don't care for it, many here will recommend it.

Thanks Guys,

I'm planning to look at these a bit later on, I appreciate the ponters!

Is there an appreciable difference in how images appear on CRT vs TFT monitors?

Jim
