Anyone use the 1d mark iii with the tamron 150-600? How is the image quality? I'm thinking about getting this combo to photograph eagles this winter.

I don't personally have that combo, but both are excellent pieces of equipment. IMHO that would work great for EIFs and a relatively cheap way to go.

I have a friend of a friend who owns the 1DMIII and I own the Tamron 150-600mm lens but not sure how well they work together. Was that helpful?

The two work together nicely. The 10 MP APS-H sensor isn't very taxing on lenses so even wide open at 600mm will likely give you very acceptable results. Focus works well for me too.

These were taken with 1D markIII and Tamron 150-600. The sky was very overcast, so lighting wasn't the greatest. Both at 1600 ISO. No crop at all on first one. About 10-15% crop, at most, on second.

All I want is just a little more than I'll ever have.
