Charging x100s through usb cable

Hi guys

Im on a trip and forgot my battery charger. Not able to pick it up till saturday...

Does the battery charge when connecting the camera through the usb to a power source?

I don't think so , and I also would not attempt this. The USB port is primarily for moving data out of the camera, not moving 5 volts into the camera.

Also found this as a gripe in an X100S review

7. Micro USB port

The USB port of the X100S is even smaller than the regular micro-USB port. This means that all the micro USB cables which I have are not compatible. I hope I won’t lose the Fuji X100S USB cable.

Does the X100s use the same charger as the original x100 or is it upgraded? I had the original x100 and remember a small tab on my charger that got lost that holds the battery tight.

Same spec charger, same battery.

FWIW, I purchased a Pearstone duo charger and have inserts for X-100 series and X-T1/x-Pro batteries so I can charge any combination of batteries at same time. Never been a fan of the oem charger.
