In order or excellence and usability:

Nik software. In my work flow I use Define for removing noise. Viveza 2 for selective editing brightness, contrast, saturation and structure. Color Efex pro filters for different effects (light dark center is my favorite). Check out the "Introduction to the Nik complete collection" on Youtube. Does a good job explaining what each plug in does.

Another vote for the NIK/Google Suite ... I use Dfine (noise control), Color Efex Pro 4 (filters for special effects), Silver Efex Pro 2 (for monochrome conversions) and Sharpener Pro 3 (for Output Sharpening) the most.

I would be kinda lost without those four parts of the collection ...

+1 for OnOne Photo Suite 9. This can be run from within programs like LR and PS, but it is much more than a set of plugins. It now has layers, smart photos, etc., and is becoming an answer for those who don't want to subscribe to PS.
