The price has dropped on this deal down to just $59.95. Well, not quite. If you are interested in Lightroom, and care nothing about the printer, then you can get this deal for $59.95 at BuyDig. But if the printer is more important than LR5, then you might want to pay the $20 more for the deal as described by the OP.

Here's why. The OP's printer is the Canon MG5520. The BuyDig printer is the Canon MG2520. See how similar those clusters of 2's and 5's and 0's look in the part numbers? That's where I got confused. This post is an edit of my earlier post where I thought the same deal was cheaper. It is. But not if you are doing it for the printer... only if you are doing it for the LR5 license. Then of course, get the lower price deal that comes with the cheaper printer.

I just bought one today at this lower price. After buying it (my first purchase from buydig) I got a note that said if I refer three people to this same deal, they will get another $5.00 off, which I guess would bring the price for this deal down to $55.95. I don't know three people who want a printer or lightroom 5 who don't already have both, but if you want to pm me your email address, I'll send you what buydig asked me to send you for you to get the $5.00 off.

BuyDig also promises to give the referrer $10.00 off some future purchase, so if you have four friends, one of you can purchase it from my link at $5.00 off, or at full price, and then send the link you too will get to your other three friends, so each of them would get $5.00 off this purchase, and you would get $10.00 off some future purchase exceeding $50.00.

I tried to get $5.00 off myself by googling buydig promo code. I found two promo codes, (WELCOMEBG5 and BG5) neither of which worked for this combo. But those weren't referral codes, so I have no idea what the referral codes are.

No matter what, this is a way better deal over the long term than having to rent the software from the cloud.

Thanks, bought one using my PayPal account. The printer isn't the greatest, but will just sell it on CL for $20 or so.

I have Lightroom 3 now. Will I have to uninstall that, in order to install Lightroom 5?

This is a good question.

And a related question would be do the libraries created in LR3 (or LR2 in my case) transfer over automatically, or does one need to manually move libraries from LRx to LR5.

I assume the printer included in the deal, like all cheap, free, loss leader, packaged, inkjet printers... is not worth the space it occupies on the desk, and is really only a conduit for the printer companies to sell ink. The value in this deal is LR5 for less than the educational price, without the educational restrictions on use.

My initial research indicates I will have two versions installed (in my case, LR3 and LR5) unless I uninstall LR3.

I really just wanted the software as well, but for $79 with a wireless printer couldn't turn that down.

I had to edit my post above because I looked closer and realized something:
