Really feeling the need to go (back) and visit some areas.... I'd be by myself, and would expect to be there for about 3 weeks. Has anyone traveled recently to VietNam and do you have any thoughts? - BTW, this appears to be an incredibly inexpensive trip - Round Trip Airfare, 3 weeks in several 4 star hotels in both Saigon and Hanoi, and some spending cash shouldn't set me back a little more than about $2k ... total ! It's a beautiful country, and I'd love to experience it one more time .... (Yea .. I know...)

Someone asked me if I spoke any Vietnamese ... I think I can still scream like a little girl and say "Dont shoot me" in their language, but I'll have to brush up so I can order from a menu.. ;-)a

There's nothing more exciting than to be shot at............... and missed! ... Then, you're alive like you've never been before..

The round trip airfare at this time of the year alone is almost 2K so your will be around 4K, I think. I was there in '03, '06 & '09. Great country to visit.

this is where we're going next year, three weeks, vietnam, cambodia, thailand. I've never been and can't wait, although it's likely going to be near the end of next year. Been going through photos of vietnam on flickr on and off for the last couple of months...too much I want to see...cannot wait.

i'm planning my 9th or 10th trip sometime in late Feb and can't wait. went so much that i last count. i was just back there for 2 months back in 2011 and had such a nice relaxing time that it was hard to come back home. this time i'll probably go for only 2 weeks so will plan a trip out to one of the island off of nha trang. will definitely bring the camera and hope to take some great pictures. :)

make sure you guys share some pictures after your trip, i would love to see where you went and what you capture. thanks.

here is one place i went to last time i was back there.
The city of Hue.

I feel ashamed because it's my home country and the last time I came back to visit was in 2006 :(. I'd love to go again and travel to the north and middle parts of the country. I was born and raised in the south, 50 miles south of saigon. Enjoy your time there and please share pics when you're back.

The way I see it, tickets to VN are my next essential camera accessory purchase. Can't wait to be back there!
