Canon King of high ISO? I take it you have never used a Nikon Df or Sony A7s? Those are the kings of High ISO. Canon can't touch them not even with the 1Dx.

You know, it's not just that we don't believe it, In fact I KNOW you are correct, these two bodies (same sensor) are indeed amazing exceptions, yet I forget they exist so often. Kudos to Sony for passing on the MP wars in the case of purpose designing exactly that, the Best High ISO noise handling sensor around.

Honestly though, the difference between the 5D3, 6D, 1DX, D750, Df, D4s or a7S are all pretty much as near as makes no difference at ISO12800 imo. The 1DX, Df, D4s and a7S definitely have the edge beyond that though, but again, I think they're all very close to each other at those crazy high ISO's.

! No so sure on no difference up to 12,800. I owned a 5dmkIII since launch and can say at 6400 and up the A7s pulls aways (owned this camera but will wait for prices to go down to pick it up again. Great tool for specific situations).

Very true! Now if we can get the sony sensor into a canon body that would be the best of both worlds as canon to me makes the best user interface hands down!

just bought a fuji xm-1. the sensor is awesome. almost no noise, even with subpar glass

Sony makes great TVs. Nothing more than that.

I saw some side by sides. I estimate the A7s to be maybe a stop better than the 5D3. It was unclear whether the 5D3 was resized to 12MP or not, but the A7s looked impressive.

That said, I'm switching over the Nikon.

Wasn't meant to be disrespectful, and it was obviously re-written by myself, it's not as though I was trying to convince anyone you had written something different...

I still shoot Canon SLR but I added a micro four thirds camera to my kit. For my purposes the advantages and disadvantages to either system only means that I have a more suitable camera to work with in certain situations. I think that in photography, as in life, diversity, experimentation and being open to new approaches is key in one's development. Often people make a huge detour only to come back where they started but they're a lot smarter for it.

I for one, would be sad to see Bent Toe leave the forum. The guy (assuming that anyway) has some serious skills with a camera. I hope he decides to try out the new Fuji portion of this forum and keeps posting the amazing work he creates.
That is definitely one thing I am looking forward to with all camera makes and models being welcomes more specifically here. More people to share and help with questions that are not dependent on the camera. A camera is a tool and most things can translate quite easily to any tool you use.

I checked in here today and just realised what someone else said in this thread.. it's not canon specific anymore!
I'm so glad that they decided to change it so that all of us can enjoy this great community.

I will stick around and post photos in the fuji forums then.

I'm glad you'll stay and share your work. I've only shot Canon, but I enjoy seeing what others do with other systems. No system is perfect, each has it's own set of advantages (and disadvantages) for any given application. As my style changes over time, I may choose to migrate to or add another system, so I think it's great that POTN will embrace non Canon photographers.
