i was lurking around and did some searching and found a few suggestions that i put together but no real extensive discussions on what to go with for a new 24" monitor

i do not have a color corrector but plan to get the ColorMunki since it seems to be popular at that price point

at my job i edit video on 2 ultrasharps. i cant remember all the sudden but i think one is a u2410 and the other is the u2412. i like the brand and i know they are reliable for the price

if i max out and buy a $400 monitor then i have to wait on the colormunki for later which wont be hard because i can find a few gigs to shoot to pay for it

from looking around i have compiled these 3 that are also available at my local microcenter

Asus PA248Q
Dell u2412M
Dell u2415 - havent seen this one suggested but saw it on microcenter and wasnt sure if buying the latest and greatest will provide any improvement

greatly appreciate the help

I use Dell monitors, they work well. I use a Spyder 4 express calibrator (external link), which works well for one screen. You need the pro version (external link) to calibrate more than one monitor, but that's not usually necessary.

do you think i will see any benefit from a double the price xrite colormunki? they also make one for $230 that comes with a color checker passport. im not THAT nitpicky on extreme perfection but a high quality monitor that is calibrated is a must

They'll probably do much the same thing, go for the cheaper one.
