Someone gave me (as a holiday gift) a SanDisk Ultra Plus micro SDXC UHS-1 card (with adapter) - 64gb class 10, (states speeds up to 48 mb/s)

What is the difference between a regular SD card and a microcard w/adapter, particularly in a canon DSLR?

I've read that the 70d can only take advantage of speeds no higher than 45 mb/s. Not sure if this is true or not, but is this card good? I use slightly faster 32 gb sd cards with my camera. I just didn't want to open this if its not worth it.

Thanks!

Some people report issues when using the adapter. Issues reported range from slow write speeds to corrupt files with varying cameras. If you could return and get an SDHC you could be better off. Check

Too many time I mentioned this. Sandisk Ultra line, it is for "transfer speed" up to xxMB/s, they are referring to read spead. Ultra line card can write a somewhere between 10-15MB/s only. It is a decent card for most user, but if you do a lot burst shooting, you will be benefit from the next level up card, which is the Extreme line that does 45MB/s for write

There is almost no impact when using uSD in adaptor to full size SD. There is only metal connectio within the adaptor.
