I would say it is no worse than any camera. Many are having troubles with the camera due to the AF learning curve. I know I was one.

The "learning curve" is exaggerated.

The only learning curve is having to figure out how to MA lenses if you haven't done that. If a new user knows how to select Case 1 or 4 from the menu, that is all you need to know to go out and shoot sports. Of course they would have to select AISERVO and multi-shot. That should work for 80% of all sports, as previously noted by other users.

I'll add to that. The AF learning curve is just as exaggerated as this need to MA to produce a decent image out of the box. The image may not be crisp but it should be acceptable especially if the lenses performed with little MA on other bodies.

I think the focus is off a tad to the front on some but not all, even at same focal length. Still going though game shots
Focus point (single) on #1 is just above the team crest under chin. #2 hand locked at elbow, just a tad to the right side player

If you look at the grass it doesnt appear to be badly front focusing. Maybe a tiny bit though. The images are sharp.

That 2nd shot is a blatant arm lock. PENALTY!!:-P
