I've been looking at a lot of members work here, and I'm wondering what process do you have when manipulating the images? I know it starts with taking a good picture or even a great picture, exposure, light etc. But lately I've seen a lot of (for lack of a better word) paint type brush on images, which again are mostly weddings and Sr's work. Is this what clients are expecting? The reason for this question or inquiring is I shoot about 10 weddings a year, and for the life of me I can correctly capture those types of images. But all I'm using is CS2 paint. I'm looking to sharpen my skills and am wondering if anyone can suggest anything?

Can you post a link to an example picture? Lighting is key to good images, and good post processing can make good pictures great.

I've just had a quick look and there are some great images on there. I haven't gone through everything but I think I know the kind you mean.

To be quite honest Mike what i would suggest is getting one of the specialist books and CS2 and learning how to use it. Adobe Photoshop CS2 for photographers by Martin Evening is a good one and also one by Scott Kelby. There are of course many free online training pages, try a search on google.

It would take ages to write up a step by step guide and that would be assuming you have a working knowledge of CS2. As Tim said, well lit images are a starting point, and hours of practice in Photoshop is the next step.

I don't have time to have a proper look at that site, i'll look next week. There are some fantastic photos on that site though, lovely lighting and excellent post processing.
