Took this today with my 1Dx and 24-70mm ii. Really new to people photography so I am really happy how it turned out. Going to use it for our Christmas card. My son's name is Owen and he will be 4 months old tomorrow.

Got to photoshop out the string on the hat and the little scratch on his face.

That is a really wonderful photograph, especially for someone who is new to it this type. Great job. Keep it up and I can tell that people will love getting this from you, he's adorable.

Thanks so much! I was nervous that it wouldn't turn out but I did a lot of reading up and practiced on a stuffed animal before I sat him down there and it helped a lot.

Very nice. Great first attempt! Agree about the thread and scratch, literally a ten second fix in PS or even LR.

The bonus of a shot like this is the bribe money when he starts bringing girls home.

What a cutie! Great first shot. For me, and this may be just personal opinion, I would want a little more light on his face.

Thanks everybody! Appreciate the feedback so much.

I agree about the light on his face...I think if I moved my light back some it would get his face better next time...I have an Alien Bees B800 I am trying to learn how to use. I only had it on as filler light.
