Yes, I'm sure. I haven't seen any forum software, anywhere, that didn't indicate that a thread had posts made after you had last visited it. Every time you visit the forum front page, you'll see which threads have new posts, even if you've already seen them.

If, on the other hand, you're accustomed to using vBulletin's "previous thread" (which wasn't how I understood your explanation of what you used to do), you wouldn't have seen threads which had new posts. However you could easily have totally missed some threads if they were refreshed before you reached them. If that's what you want, you can just continue, using "LIST NEARBY THREADS" to choose the thread next after the one it shows you to be on.

Are you sure? Maybe there was an option I changed long ago, but I visit the Photo Sharing section everyday and the threads definitely did not switch to unread when someone posted a comment to the end of the photo.

This is the same experience I also had with POTN (pre-AMASS). This is part of what I've been posting about when I mentioned the font coloring, etc. Hence my frustration with visiting the Photo Sharing sections now, because it's a pain to play ping-pong with thread title and the area on the right which may or may not have wording indicating that you've been there before.

Here are a couple of images from yet another forum I also frequent. I haven't been there in probably a week or so before today and this post.

The first image depicts the sub-forums. The ones that are marked red are sub-forums that I've visited previously. The ones marked in blue, I've never entered before.

The second image depicts threads within the sub-forum. The ones which are bolded are completely new since my last visit or are threads that I've never visited that have new posts. The non-bolded blue ones were there during my last visit, but I never opened the thread. The ones marked in red, I've opened previously (doesn't matter if I've posted there or not, or if there have been new posts since I've been there last - it stays red as an indication that I've been there before). There are other threads on the forum which are 30+ pages long, which are still colored red (previously viewed) even though I haven't visited them in months or years.

Again, you can EASILY look at those threads and tell the differences between them. That's not the case with the current setup here. They may be different, but much harder to distinguish the differences if you aren't carefully looking. Hence my previous comment, that you should be able to tell the difference even if you were drunk ;)

I simply use the color coding, and don't even use the stuff in the grid on the right.

No bolding means I have read it and no replies made since.
Light bold means I read it, but more replies have been made.
Dark bold means I haven't yet read it.

That is sufficient for me, I live in the New and Followed screen, the new to see what I should read out of everyting there, and the followed to see if I need to follow up with others on my followed or created threads.

I also would like to vote for the "Posts per page" option. I'm used to the 50 per page or whatever the max was before. Now, when I try to read long threads, I barely get into it before I'm forced to change the page yet again. Also, if I'm trying to find a post I previously read/saw, having only 15 posts per page makes it extremely tedious to go through a long thread to find it.

Thanks, a good question.
Those are not for camera settings, those are for exposure values. If you shoot AUTO or Av or Tv, the resulting exposure always has aperture, shutter speed and ISO.

You're right, your camera can be placed into Av or Tv modes, however it still captures an image with a specific ISO, aperture, and shutter speed - whether you specified all of those or not. Similarly, I can place my camera into the Green Box mode, and it will still use an ISO, shutter speed, and aperture to make the exposure. The purpose of the EXIF data is to detail what those settings are.

Hmm, may just need an auto mode in the options. I never thought of it, but lots of folks probably have no idea what the settings on the camera are or what they mean. But, they still like sharing images on POTN.

No, sorry. It's the most basic info you can have so it is not hard to even guess, and for most images EXIF is read just fine, especially shutter, aperture and ISO.

It means the hosted photos may not be viewed unless you view them on these pages. If you do so and still get hotlink prevenetion messages, your browser is probably serving the page from a proxy, like Opera may do. That means: from our perspective the request to view the image does not come from our server, so it is prevented.

So can you explain to me what I need to do to solve this problem? I would appreciate any help.
Thank you much.

Most of mine I guess. Sure I can look it up on Smugmug, but I know about what I shoot so it's not that difficult. Does it muddy the pool water a bit? Probably, but then again I don't take award winners, I take pictures.

If they aren't the same thing, then your rendering is different than mine. I see 3 distinctly different sets of threads in my view. I do think there are some improvements to be made in determining which of the renderings there should be though. In the meantime, if a bolded blue catches my attention again, I will read it again, and it will jump to the first unread, or the first post if unread.

The next set I look at are the light bolded, because I have made replies there and have more interest. However, I almost always follow those threads, until I am bored with them, and I stop following them.

Here's the extended shot that shows one has been viewed previously and the other has never been viewed at all:

EDIT: I'm using the latest version of Firefox; 34.0.5
