You're mistaken. Pekka didn't "hate" Tapatalk. He just didn't trust it to not introduce security vulnerabilities to vBulletin. He's long held that he would only trust stuff the vBulletin developers themselves would certify as secure for the old POTN. He wrote AMASS since vBulletin alone didn't offer the features that he could see were needed, including support for a wide range of devices from smartphones to 4HD displays and everything in between.

Does this mean that Pekka may develop an app for POTN? Reading as a web page works well on the ipad, not quite as well on the phone. Not a big deal for me, as 90% of my browsing is on computer. But would be nice...

No there is no need for a separate app since POTN is the only forum that uses AMASS. All mobile device support will be a part of the software. If you noticed the sneak peek of AMASS 1.1 has improved support for small screens. I'm sure that improvements will continue to evolve.

No. Pekka has been quite clear that there will not be a separate app.

AMASS is superb on the ipad. 90% of the time when im on the forum at home its on a retina ipad. Everything works perfectly. The odd occasion when im on my android phone it isnt as perfect as some things dont scale correctly but its still useable and doesnt actually bother me as I dont use the forums on my phone that often.

I agree. I use an iPad a lot for web browsing even though I would prefer working on a larger screen when posting because of my fat fingers.

Wow, I just had a sort of in between ( perhaps 1.05 :) ) effect before 1.1 kicked in that was hilarious!
But now its settled down to 1.1 fully and is looking cool!

Yes, that sort of mix can happen with AJAX.... One option to solve it is to kick all logins, but I did not want to do that.

It settled in pretty quickly at my end, but for a second there Pekka I was convinced you'd gone a little crazy in your coding

Looks good on my Samsung NoteII phone as well.

Sorry to ask it here, but I thought I saw it somerwhere before, possibly here;

How do you leave a direct link to Youtube where screen is visible here in this forum and viewer only needs to click the play to see the clips without leaving this forum? I thought there is a tiny modification of last part of URL but what. And I tried putting it in Video command that doesn't work.
Thanks in anticipation.

In post editor, click "MORE TOOLS & COMMANDS" and there click VIDEO EMBED.

What it basically does for you is put the video id between VIDEO tags.

So when you are in youtube page https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mRb4ZNt2daQ (external link) copy the url to VIDEO EMBED tool it builds you a bbcode
[VIDEO=youtube]mRb4ZNt2daQ[/VIDEO] which embeds the video like this:

Hey, Gang!

I've been 'out' for a couple months due to a variety of life issues, no internet and such so I just jumped back in here a couple days ago, and here we are playing with AMASS 1.1!

It was interesting reading the discontinued "Dizzy" thread, with a lot of folks complaining, then this thread, it looks like things have settled down!

Congrats, Pekka, for getting things running!
