So I decided to cancel my 7d2 order and stay with Nikon. Go to order the d750 today and BH and Adorama are backordered. I guess it was recalled...

Did they say it was recalled?

This article at PetaPixel says they have confirmed that there is Nikon-issued recall:

They already stated that current owners can send their body in to be fixed for free, starting sometime this month

I haven't noticed an issue with mine. But I guess I'll go to the Nikon web site and register it.

So this means that by February/March I should be on the lookout for some really good Nikon Refurb pricing on D750 body? =) Hmmm 90 day warranty for refurb product vs 1 yr warranty with brand new purchase... would definitely make it easier to buy a 24-70 2.8 lens... mmm decisions decisions!

Too bad Canadians don't get the refurb deals :(
Although I got a Canadian version for $2,250, which is about $1,950USD with the xrate now XD

But it's still $2,250 Canadian, which isn't cheap :(

I doubt the refurbs, if any, will even be worth the cross border shopping for your Norther neighbours.

I'm seriously considering moving to Nikon and this camera in particular. I'd like to see what canon does in the way of a refresh for the 6D, even the 5D3 if they come later this year. I'm holding out for drastic improvements in low-ISO shadow noise but I suppose I should be realistic about that.

You'll be shocked in this regard with the D750.

To those of you that have one, do you have any idea how you can trigger the shutter with a pocket wizard. I have been using a cable into the 10 pin connector on my D700. But with the absence of this connector can any one else suggest anything ? Its what is currently putting me off upgrading.

You'd need to use the N-MCDC2 adapter cable from the Pocket Wizard to the camera body. It's listed here: http://www.pocketwizard.com …e_accessory/cameracables/ (external link)

I hate Nikon's customer support already.

I sent the camera in for the stuck pixels on the rear and after having to contact two other people, I put the service advisory notice in the box with the camera and a letter asking them to fix both issues. Originally I was told that I could send it in for one issue or the other and try and contact them while they had the camera and see if they would take care of both before having someone tell me to place a letter in the box. The primary reason is was being sent in was for the stuck pixels on the rear LCD.

I got it back a week and a half later and they didn't do anything about the stuck pixels. There wasn't even a notation on the service paper about them. All they did was fix it for the service advisory. So I call back and they say I have to send it in again and that they're going to e-mail me another shipping label. Well, no label was ever sent. I tried calling them at 7:40 on Friday night when I finally get home from a busy day of work. I'm on hold until after 8:00 where a customer diservice person picks up the phone, says something to me, and then hangs up. So now I'm on hold again on Monday trying to get shipping labels to send this stupid camera in again.

I've been having to push back shoots. I wonder how Nikon would feel about reimbursing me for my losses due to their stupidity...

My village called. I was told that they missed me.

Speedotron users, untie!

I too have been less than thrilled.
Sigh. Both cameras in shop.
