Thanks tmalone893. I'm really liking the handiness of having this secondary camera with me. I just leave it out in the house so it's easy to grab when there is something I want to capture or just take it and throw it in my front seat. I still love my 6D but like the size and convenience of the a6000 when I don't want to lug around the 6D with the kids.

I dont have to tell readers of this thread that the A6000 is an awesome camera; it really can do so many wonderful things.
I usually keep my A6000 attached to a digiscope but yesterday I shot it 'freehand' with the 70-200g, in anticipation of the arrival of the
24-240mm Sony I wanted to re-familiarize myself with what it can do not attached to a scope-

How do you like the 70-200? I had read somewhere that the 24-240 was great up to 100mm and was soft at 240. Of course that is just talk and you have to take things like that with a grain of salt.

I don't have the 35mm but I do have the 50 and I love that lens. It is super sharp. I think I'm going to wait for the new 28mm 1.8

I too own the 50 but just purchased a 35, was only wondering if anyone had preference in one over the other. I find the 50 to be a bit long at times, but agree that it's a great lens.

i use and love the 35mm when the A6000 is on the digiscope.
70-200g versus the 24-240mm=I don't know yet. My 24-240mm is supposed to arrive
tomorrow. There is no way the 24-240 can be as sharp as the 70-200 BUT know this, the
70-200 is soft at 200--a hard reality, and softness is of course relative. I've got a 300 2.8 and
almost anything I've ever used is soft compared to that---so it really depends on where you're
coming from and going to.
Anyone considering purchasing a lens MUST know it is like everything else in photography, a
compromise. One must adjust expectations accordingly and be prepared for some surprises
along the way.
Example suprise. A few weeks ago I added a Lumix 100-300 to the m4/3s shelf. Yep it's soft
too at 300 (600mm 35fov equiv), so I dial it back to 256mm and I was blown away at the
sharpness....everything I'd read said it was sharp at 100mm and downhill from there-wrong!
There is always sample variance, even among the most expensive 'Ls', you just may happen
to get a 'kit' lens that in the upper extremes of its variance..just keep your fingers crossed
when you click the order button :)
Back to the big picture, e.g. the 240mm via the 24-240mm Sony; for me there are times when
I simply cannot change out lenses, either environmental conditions or time----and I'm lucky
enough to have an A7s to put the 24-240 on to help negate the slow F.

I decided to give this little camera a real test yesterday. I shot some NCAA March Madness tournament action with it, and while not a pro camera, it performed pretty well. Most of these are 1/800 @f4 and ISO 5000 with the Sony 16-70 lens. If I had a fast focusing 50mm f2 or faster lens, I think I could turn out some pretty good action images. The camera does draw some comments on the sidelines :-)

Now that is what I'm talking about. Those look great. I shoot a lot of HS basketball and I just recently starting using the a6000 with the 50mm 1.8 for around the rim shots. I too have gotten some looks from the other guys. They make comments like, "Is your real camera broken:-P" I have the 5D3 and 70-200 in my lap but I was using the sony for 80-90% of my shots. I can wait to to use it as a remote camera for soccer.
Please post some more if you get the chance.

Theron, here are a few more. I've shot this camera in a not too well lit high school gym and the results were ok for internet sharing, but that's about it. I originally bought the camera because I was getting tendonitis from big lenses. I figured that I would use it as a walk around and to shoot the grandkids, but it's pretty capable. I have used it as a second camera at a wedding, feature shots at the Daytona 500, sideline stuff at a football bowl game, and now this. I like this camera so much that I might buy the A7. I think I like it the most when I'm walking back to the car at the end of the day :-)
