The Creekstone Inn series belongs in a laudable magazine, just pro level work.
I really can see the outside shot on a postcard sold or given to patrons.

Yup...

Thanks. I would assume the Inn would prefer a shot with their sign a little more prominent though.

Oh, and I just replaced this image with a re-edit to adjust colors a bit. The building should be more gray/less green and I brightened up my Caddy a bit too. ;-)a

Nobody else has this lens?

In October, 2014, at the suggestion of a fellow ex-Oriskany crewmember, I submitted a request for a corrected DD-214 (military record) in order to see if I qualified for additional service awards not previously included on my form.

Three months later, I finally got a response with these corrections. In addition to the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and Navy Unit Commendation I already have, the inclusion of two bronze service stars are now authorized for my VN Service Medal, the Navy Good Conduct Medal and the RVN Meritorious Unit Citation (Gallentry Cross w/palm and frame). Due to the fire the Oriskany suffered while I was aboard in 1966, we were not in the combat zone for the six month requirement to qualify for the VN Campaign Medal.

So, I finished putting together a shadow box with my awards and added a couple of extra items, my dog tag and Zippo cigarette lighter too. I now have it hanging on what is known as an "I love me" wall in the den next to the bar.

I used the graduated ND filter in ACR horizontally starting from the right to help even out the lighting. Oh, and the picture frame at the lower right of the group was a little crooked so I copied it onto a seperate layer, removed the one on the background layer using content aware fill, straghtened the frame on it's layer and had to add a drop shadow so it looked like the other picture frames.

Nope.

Seriously, while I do still own the lens, I am currently re-evaluating things. I may actually go back to all-primes. Although the zooms are nice, turns out I'm just not giving them as much use as I had originally expected. You have state before that you thought I was a prime guy, and, well, when it comes right to it I am indeed. When I reach for a lens 9 times out of 10 it's one of my primes.

Nice clean shot.

This is the only FE lens that I have now but I'm very seriously considering ditching it for the new 7-14 from Olympus. Just waiting for a few more reviews as the initial sample shots from DPReview looked awful at 7mm.

I'm half zoom half prime :) and yes still own this lens.
Navydoc, hugely impressive set of credentials. Thanks for helping me to be free and do what I want.
Olympus 7-14...hmmmm. I've got the Panasonic 7-14 and absolutely love it. I won't embed in this 16-35 thread but here is an example from the Pana 7-14 on Easter Island last month. Also, nothing to do with this 16-35 thread but we also have the Oly 40-150 2.8 and the much cheaper Pana 100-300 and find the Pana sharper.

Thank you both. Most of those medals are of the "I was there" variety and only the Navy Unit Citation is for valor. It was awarded to the entire ship's company and attached airwing for the 1966 cruise. That's the one where we had a deadly fire aboard that killed 44 men too.

I decided that since the wall should represent all of my time in the Navy, I needed to show more of my time while stationed in Hawaii. Unfortunately, shore stations don't have cruise books, shoulder patches, etc. so I made up a collage of photos in photoshop to print out and place in one of the frames.

Even though this has nothing to do with this Sony lens, here's the collage I put together in PS.

Just got back from Spain and have to say i loved traveling with just the A7r, 16-35, and 55. Much better experience than when i was in italy lugging around a 5dmkiii, 16-35L, and 35 Art.

Playing with POV. These shots were taken from inside one of my china hutches. FE 16-35 @ 16mm and fired with wireless remote.

These items belonged to my great aunt. The green glasses were hand made in Belgium, the knives are grape fruit knives made of glass, and the vase is from Japan. I''m not sure how old these pieces are but I'm guessing around 75-100 years old.

Thanks Dean. Those knives and the stand made of cut glass really do give them a jewel like quality.
