This is a fairly dead thread, time for a wakeup.

the lens seems big next to the 55 F1.8, but it's a good bit lighter:

from my limited use, the IQ seems very good if you dont mind the slow aperture.

the lens does look very large on the camera, but hardly weighs anything. The zoom feels real good, though I put a band there to prevent creeping. My goal is to use this as a landscape lens; think it will work out based on some shots around the house.

Looks great! OOF areas look clean and undistracting. Looking forward to seeing some landscapes and more impressions from you as it gets a workout. I'm very pleased with my 24-70mm and have decided to keep it, but this one is the better buy (just as good or better, yet much less expensive).

I'm really thinking about getting this lens along with my a7S once I decide on where to buy that from... I think it'd be a nice compliment to it for studio work :)

I normally dont do black and white, but I think it turned out well compared to the color:

I'm delighted by the sharpness of this lens, it's pretty good at it's weakest point. At wider focal lengths, this thing is very sharp, corner to corner.

not the most luxurious lens, however performance seems pretty good

Hi All,

First off great pics!

Secondly, does anyone also own the 24-70 F4? If so, how do the 24-70 and 28-70 compare in your opinion?

Thanks in advance!

Thought the post needed more pics.

Picked up the lens for a bit of a walk around. Not displeased at all

This lens is pretty decent.

These were when I first tried out the Sony A7 with kit lens. Images taken from last year.

On Saturday when I used this at a wedding, I was pretty much using the button mash technique normally associated with the Fuji X-Pro1 when it first came out. Needless to say, the Sony A7s + 28-70mm lens worked like a charm.

I will try to post images later.

Images from an event last night hosted by the Edmonton Down Syndrome Society. It was a pre-media event before the actually Fashion event on September 10th.

Images taken with the Sony A7s and 28-70 kit lens, with the YN-560 IV. The lens had no issue at all focusing in this very dark club type of setting ( I will post a follow up image). Overall I am happy with the focusing results. I mostly had the camera's focusing set to wide for 90% of the event.

These are simply images with the flash off, the Sony A7s with Kit has no issues at all. I remember when I had my 5DII, unless I was using the AF light assist feature, I has would get non stop hunting.
