And, speaking of confirmations left and right, that 'Really Cancel?' confirmation when you want to cancel a post it's really unnecessary.

Honestly, I am a huge fan of the cancel confirmation.

Sure. Whenever I lose typed text is because I accidentally or stupidly hit the Back button on the browser.

I was trying to imply sarcasm, noted with my emoticon... I guess you missed it... when I purposely asked you again if you were sure that's what you wanted ;)

Yeah, I think I did. I'm slow on the take on crappy days, and to-day it has been one.

I prefer more control of subscriptions and a central control panel.

Has this been sorted out? The Control Panel was my landing page for PotN and it seems to still be missing.

"Raw" is not an acronym, abbreviation, nor a proper noun; thus, it should not be in capital letters.

See https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?t=1409897

I suppose by "landing page" you mean you wwent to CP to check new posts to your followed (was:subscribed) threads? Now that can be done in https://photography-on-the.net/forum/newposts.php?followed=1

I work now on the things mentioned in above link, and I'm sure you'll get comfortable when the changes are done.

You can click reply once and the editor opens in about 1 second. That is not quick?

The common Quick reply (when no icon is clicked) is equivalent to starting a "post to thread" command. That can be set to trigger on some keyboard command of course.

I could of course make code that lets you hit some keyboard command to open reply on current post, but determining what is the current post is the culprit (pixel level position detection is easy, but where there are few low height posts on screen the dilemma is which one to pick for the reply). I need to know exactly what the code should do, the actual coding is the easy part.

It's more like find button -> move mouse over button -> click -> wait -> move mouse to text field and click (maybe automatic) -> start typing

vs

Click in quick reply field - > start typing

Extra clicks (such as for quoting) add complexity, thought required, and will likely reduce participation - from me at least.

I still don't know how subscriptions work. If it's has to be explained it's too complex.

..and then you clicked that GO ADVANCED to get the tools you need. Then you clicked the PREVIEW which reloaded the page. Then you needed to resize your attached images to get them accepted etc etc.

If you do not want to point your mouse to a button and click once, then I'm sorry to say I'm puzzled how you are able to read your email, open programs or browse anything at all.

You do not need any extra clicks for quoting a post, click that QUOTE to reply with an automatic quote.

Simple enough?

Perhaps peoples feedback (good and bad) is getting to you, your replies seem to be a little more terse than usual. I probably would be too if I'd spent a lot of time and effort on a system that was then criticized.

Generally quick reply is used to write - wait for it - quick simple replies. You use the toolbar sometimes, but wouldn't usually go into preview or advanced. It's probably more used by people with high post volumes.

Thanks for the tip around subscriptions.

Believe me, for a typical Finn responding, that reply was a novel.
I am working a lot to get a new version out. I really enjoy talking to members, but I also need to code (and I love doing it!).

Good to hear :) I know how complex this stuff can be, but yes coding can really be fun too :) I don't really get to code much any more.

Tim, in VB to use quick reply, you click in the box and start typing.

In AMASS, you click reply, and start typing.

It took me a little while to get my head around, and during beta testing I also asked for a quick reply feature, mostly because it was what I was used to having used VB for so many years on so many different forums.

But quite simply, it's not needed. The reply button does the same thing, just faster.

Can the "follow this thread" link please be put at the bottom of the posts as well as the top? That way you can just hit the link after you post rather than having to scroll up. Alternately put a check box somewhere near the bottom or in the posting sidebar.

Yes, I'll consider and evaluate all choices to make it more accessible. Not all can be done for 1.1 (https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?t=1411142) but they are on the to do list.
