This stuff needs refining.

Is there a search that shows latest post activity to which you can filter out results from certain forums? I prefer to filter search results so it doesn't clutter things up from forums I don't care about like birds, wildlife, etc. There tends to be a ton of them. The activity viewer is hard to read as it's just line after line of text combined with bold and non bold and it's just painful to look at.

I completely agree. I understand the new software was a lot of work, but the visual style of it looks VERY 90's.

Please click on 'for your eyes only' at the top and go way down to 'account setting' there you have the filtered options to Disable an unwanted category.

That only allows you to completely filter a forum from view. I just want to filter the latest posts portion like we were able to previously.

have to agree with the OP. I haven't been on POTN in a long time but this change is quite a shock.

Why not hide the forum so that it filters from the New Posts page? That is what you are going to have to do for now. Over time, there will be more changes and enhancements. Perhaps you could suggest a change on the Forum Filtering page so that there were mutiple filter options, like 1) from viewing, 2) from new posts, 3) from searches, etc.?

That would be a nice touch for a 2.0 release.

Also, I would strongly suggest that everyone that is a bit disoriented over the new look head over to the AMASS forum. There are many tutorial items there, and others working through the new look and function.

There has been notices given out on this move along with video clips etc for months now on the old POTN. It may be that many missed or ignored those announcements, so now we all just have to move through the initial hurdle. It will grow on you, I promise. :)

As to your delay, it is certainly not the AMASS or POTN server. Most likely it was an ISP hiccup along the many hops from Chicago area to the site. Unless Pekka was making changes and activating midstream.

i guess when you click on the "hide" button to hide a forum, it takes 2 or 3 clicks to get it to do what you want it to do...

Like most people, I am innately resistant to change. For that very reason, I purposely try to keep an open mind. After using the new forum for a bit, I'm getting some serious eye-strain/fatigue. I can get used to a new layout and options, but can we tone down the background color to a light grey or blue, or something remotely neutral in brightness?

With the impending forum closure, please consider joining the unofficial adjunct to the POTN forum, The POTN Forum Facebook Group (external link), as an alternate way of maintaining communication with our members and sharing/discussing the hobby.

I'm also quite shock to learn about the new design and requirements on the forum. While I don't think we will have the old design back, can we at least have the option to change the color? I work with computers all day and it's rather distracting.

Any way to adjust an individuals sort order? What I typically view and participate in is at the bottom which requires a lot of scrolling.

I'm not a fan of the new layout either. Appreciate the effort put forwards, but this new design is too hard for me to follow and staring at a bright white screen doesn't help. Not a fan of the post #/date/time/like this post display at its current location, it distracts me too much to be able to really follow a thread

Still learning.

I've very curious as to how this can be a shock. Where have you guys been? Info about the new site has been at the top of the forum for months, and there have been many long threads about all the changes.

I for one, think Pekka did an AMAZING job, working tirelessly for months and months, to make a forum that is more responsive to our needs and wants. Everyone had lots of time to put in suggestions over the last year.

In with the NEW! :)

I want the old forum back. This feels like I'm in an AOL Chatroom.
