Marking individual forums or sub forums read

Is this possible? It was always nice to have indications of what's new since you last marked everything read.

Another vote for this. Something I am missing.

Yes, I am pretty happy with the new design overall. Some really innovative additions.

However, the searching and read/unread management really need some additional features.

Well done Pekka and the team, absolutely brilliant. Glad to see it up and running, I'm sure that Pekka feels absolutely chuffed with this

But I think the site could do with a new favicon to make it stand out that it is a new design, hahaha

Another vote for this. It make the forum really hard to use when you can't quickly mark stuff as read.

Alternatively the ability to hide/show/ignore individual threads so that they don't clutter up the view would help.

I've noticed a couple of "another post of this" comments. Maybe we need a +1 or like button too?

yea I would like to have the option to mark as read. when your browsing around clicking on random stuff it's good to have.

I also like to mark the whole forum read at the end of the night so I start the day with only new/update subjects.

Oh there is a "like" link... that's a fairly unintuitive place for it. I'd have expected it with the other buttons, not hidden in grey text.

I guess the forum UI will evolve based on feedback.

What are those green arrows on the left that have counted up to 8/8?

Another vote for marking a forum read, it was easy to pop in, scan the list and you could see where you last was as it was bold then at the bottom mark it read and it popped you back out.

For me and the way I view a number of forums several times a day, it's critically important to be able to mark a forum section as "having been read" with a single click. I belong to a small forum that does not have this tool and it's really a pain to have to open and mark each post. In this forum that would be impossible due to the volume of new posts every day.

I also miss seeing an easy-to-recognize post numbering within a thread. The 8-digit post numbers are useless to me.

What green arrows are you seeing, Tim? I don't see any when simply looking at the thread.

While I'm posting, though, I see some arrows which are incrementing a count. It appears that the green arrows and the count relate to a behind-the-scenes saving of the text that I am posting. I can change the text by clicking on the arrows. Interesting.....

I do agree with this. It is a pain to have to mark threads and posts just to know what is new since the last visit.
Wait and see.

I would like a way to mark a forum as read as well. I do like the new look though.
