I love the Canon S series. They amazing little cameras! I took one of the two I own on a trip to NY. It is an early serial number that had a service advisory for an internal cable coming loose but I rarely used it and never had an issue. As luck would have it the first day the lens error appeared.
I went to B&H and bought a S110 since its practically the same camera minus the gps. When I got home I took the s100 to canon and they replaced the entire iris assembly. It has a clean bill of health from Canon and is in near new condition. Paperwork will come with to prove it.
Ive decided to sell my second one as well and buy a new under water housing for the s110.
