Does anyone know how to change the color of the forum interface? I can't find where the option is for all of us to change the color from white to something darker like grey.

Very harsh on the eyes. I am sad to say that if the Apple approach is maintained then to me it reads as "my way or the highway" and I usually choose the highway. Shame, it has alot of promise and works well on my mobile. Ho-hum ![]() Don't worry, you'll get darker schemes - I just need some time.... The Forum Boss, El General Moderator

OhLook insufferably pedantic. I can live with that. 24,909 posts Gallery: 105 photos Best ofs: 2 Likes: 16338 Joined Dec 2012 Location: California: SF Bay Area More info | Dec 03, 2014 10:05 | #7 I thought photos looked better, more vibrant, with the original white scheme that has drawn so many complaints. For people who find that all the light interferes with reading: between lowering your monitor brightness and changing the room lights, you should get some improvement. At Old POTN, I found that decreasing the brightness by one notch in the evening made for more comfortable viewing. PRONOUN ADVISORY: OhLook is a she. | Comments welcome

That Stylish browser plugin from that other thread has help a lot for me, but I've also notice some issues with links as the OP of that thread. I think I also liked the way it originally looked as well but even with my calibrated display(that includes brightness at the proper level and yes it's turned down quite a bit) the new colors still strain my eyes(as do all light colored sites). My eyes are more sensitive the most, spent my childhood constantly squinting while outside. My home is also usually fairly dimly lit as well(for several reasons). If you take a look at the thread I linked you can see a screen shot the OP's as well as my dark theme on the forum.

Thanks pekka and now my reply seems unreasonable. I should not have taken someone else's post as if it were from you. Sorry and thanks for all the hard work.

Sorry and thanks for all the hard work. It actually seems clearer on my phone (galaxy s5) and tablet (nexus 7) than on my Windows 7 pc, believe it or not. All in chrome. We have at home one cheap Samsung PC monitor. Everything light colored looks crappy with it, very eye-straining. On my three Eizos everything is great. Ipads are also very good, Nexus 7 (2013) needs to be dimmed down, it is very bright at 100%. The Forum Boss, El General Moderator

If you were referring to my earlier quoting of Pekka'a Apple comment, it was actually from him. Pekka wrote in post #17300955 Sorry, no such settings are available, a long time ago I decided to drop such settings. Think of like an Apple product ( = "we know best") ![]() Now that quote in now way means Pekka was not willing to change based on "customer" demand, only that changes will be made on his time frame in whatever order he feels is important, and only if he feels the changes are necessary. And that makes complete sense as it is his hard work. 7Dmk2, Tokina 12-24 f/4, Canon EF-S 18-135 f/3.5-5.6 IS STM, Canon 70-200 f/4L IS, Canon 70-200 f/2.8L IS III, Tamron SP 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2, a few other cheap lenses, lots of little stuff, flashes, stands, and almost enough brains to be considered dangerous

Maybe I was having a bad eye week when I posted before or the tweaks have improved things, but it is readable without pain for me now.

New user registration has been shut down for over a week, and one would expect that to be pretty important. Of course, that may all be done already and just waiting for the next release.
