This is the lens that has been on my camera the most. For the past 12 to 6 months I have had the IS turned off as the lens chatters at times. I tried it out on the 7D2 the other day and had the camera lock up several times and focus was a bit spotty. It has been on my list to send the lens back to Canon for a tuneup and I think it is time. Other than these recent issues this has been the lens that was on my camera the most.

I too have focus issues intermittently with this lens. It struggles if the AF point falls on drab brush, and drab brush is not that uncommon in many landscape shots.

Other than that, it is sharp and the fast aperture is useful.

Of all my lenses, this is probably my favorite and most used. It rarely gets removed from my camera. The focus is fast and sharp. I rarely get a bad picture with this lens, and if I do, it can usually be chalked up to the photographer (me) and not the lens.
