Classification of members

I suggest that the new classification names of members by number of postings is ridiculous. I see that instead of "Gold" I'm now classed as "Precious", which is plain silly and can even be construed as derogatory, and some other new classifications are equally inappropriate.

So let's keep it simple. Do away with them altogether and just show the join date and number of posts.

When I opened this thread my eye went immediately to your classification before reading the post, and I nearly blew coffee out of my nose. I think that sufficiently illustrates your point. You're right, it's weird.

Precious is great. You are cherished, embrace it!

Precious:
Of high cost or worth.
Highly esteemed, cherished.
Dear; beloved.
Affectedly dainty or overrefined. (ok, well, just pretend that ones not a real definition )

Also, can the number of posts be shewn by default?

Classifications are now back to basics. We can use the extra ones later if needed, or for April 1st

I just went from precious to Goldmember but search by type indicates I am only a senior member (not yet posted 2000 posts). Odd! If I keep posting at this rate I guess it won't be too long!
Some posts seem to show number of posts under the avatar, some don't. Odd!

I noticed another member who was shown as Senior Member with only 900-some-odd posts.

When a post is short, the avatar is smaller to fit the vertical space, and information like location is omitted.

I was relieved to be reclassified from Precious to Goldmember (very prompt, thank you Pekka) but I see you are still a "Non Dairy Creamer", OhLook - you have my sympathy!

Thanks. It started as a variation on "Cream of the Crop." Not bad, considering what the TF can do when she's in the mood.

I went from member to assimilated to now senior member. For now I have around 400 posts. Nice

Been on here a few years don't run my lips much as I have a job that takes most of my time. Now I cannot even look at the stuff for sale. Come on. I think it is time to say good bye to this site. FM seem much more inclined to promote the industry and the need of the photographer.
