Fuji X-T1 thoughts?

Looking at buying a Fuji X-T1 and wanted to see some users opinions. I've previously went from a Nikon D7000 to Canon 6D, sold the 6D back in the summer to free up some cash as I just wasn't using it enough at the time. The 6D was about perfect to me and I have considered just getting another one but keep thinking the X-T1 might work just as well. If going with the X-T1 I would probably get the kit zoom and a 10-24 or 14mm lens.

I don't shoot sports or anything that moves fast (other than a hyperactive Australian Shepard mix occasional) and would like to have something in the 20mm FF range for landscapes and interior Arch/Engineering stuff.

I recently sold off all of my Canon crop-sensored cameras to invest into the Fuji X-T1 and a 10-24. I absolutely love it. If you ever shot Fuji slide film; the images brought me right back to the days of slides. The color is outstanding, quick focus and half the weight of my 70D with a 10-22mm. I did keep my full-frame 5D MarkIII, but my street camera and travel camera is the X-T1 and I have purchased the 23mm f1.4 and 55-200mm and I cannot wait for them to arrive. I had 6d along with 5dmk3. My main lenses for canon are listed in my signature. I am happy with XT-1 for my day to day shots. 6d high ISO was better but I am getting very good shots from XT-1. Love the colors from SOOC jpegs. Here is 35mm f1.4 @f2.

Very nice bobbyz, I found a local shop that was bringing a few in for store inventory so next week I'll get a chance to handle one. I have larger hands and want to see how it handles first.

I don't think I'll ever get rid of my 5Dii simply because it's such a great studio camera. I have two 580EX II and one Sigma EF500 Super that work as a great 3 light IR TTL setup. I'll probably keep my 24-70, 70-200 f/4L, 135 f/2 and 50 f/1.4, but I plan to sell most of my remaining Canon gear.

I shoot mostly with an X-E1 and as pleased as I am with it (with 18-55 and 14mm Fuji lenses, plus a large number of Canon FD lenses) I am contemplating selling it to get the X-T1. It is a really nice improvement over the X-E1. However, I'm still waiting to see if a new XPro is released.

I have a X100s on the way so a X-T1 will be on hold for the time being. I took advantage of the price mark down on the X100s and BestBuy's not interest for 18 month offer but I prefer to buy used equipment when I can. I too am waiting for the new X Pro to come out, but mostly so that hopefully used X-T1 bodies will show up in the $600-$700 range.

I tried an X-T1 in person and really liked it, but until I have more time for photography it isn't worth the expense of picking one up at current prices.

I recently rented one from lensrentals and fell in love with it. As much as I love my 7D and have become so familiar with its settings, I can't get over how much of my time is spent fixing color and white balance issues. I have no problem tinkering with really important shots in post-processing, but sometimes I just want the shots out of the camera to be good enough to share with friends and family as-is. With my x100s, I usually take the JPGs SOOC without a second thought. I wanted to see if the X-T1 would perform similarly and, not surprisingly, it did.

I'm ordering an X-T1 this week to take with us on our Xmas vacation trip.

It looks like a very good camera, on all levels... BUT, imo, i would never buy a camera without OVF (the EVF is laggy) and if i were you, i would wait for the X-pro2

It really depends on what you use it for/how you use it. I thought the same thing until I realized how little I missed my 6D most of the time after getting my X-E1. I just sold the 6D a couple of weeks ago and got an a7R. I've only used it a couple of days, but I'm already pretty confident that I won't miss my 6D, even at ISO12800, f2, 1/80s the viewfinder is plenty quick enough imo.

Newly released firmware ( today ) adds many great features which makes it a new camera...again.

I have shots dSLRs from old 10d days and I don't miss OVF except when I am shooting action/sports. Now EVF and mirrorless do drain batteries much faster but I like the EVF on XT-1.

I didn't use the EVF enough to really get a like or dislike for it, but I didn't see it being a problem for me as I don't shoot sports or anything. Now that I've picked up a X100s I don't see getting a X-T1 anytime soon maybe after the X-Pro2 comes out maybe not.

I've mentioned this elsewhere, as soon as they release the Fujifilm 120-400mm I'll be all over the Xt1, or which ever body they have at the time.

I have to say, my FD 300mm f/4L is simply marvelous on the X-E1. I had no idea that lens was as good as it is when I was only shooting film 20 years ago. In fact, the principal reason for buying into the Fuji mirrorless was my collection of FD lenses. They're now like the toys in Toy Story - they don't want to go back in the box.
