Godzilla has returned, even with short view on, I'm scrolling. In full view, it's like a 20 page PDF document, not pretty for an index page. My suggestion here is to cram it to a point that it is at least half that size or less. Cut out the spaces between lines. The old forum was much better in this respect. Reduce the font size of forum titles such as news and rumors, general gear talk and the like, or possibly remove them altogether by separating them with different color fonts.

The short view, full view buttons don't need to be taking up real estate at the top of the index page, mostly because once you make your decision it serves no purpose. In fact, if the index page is laid out in a concise manner, there is no need for them to begin with. Removing these buttons moves everything up the page.

(377,560 MEMBERS, 17,099,923 POSTS, 1,366,910 THREADS, 1,660,928,876 THREAD VIEWS.) This line at the top of the index page looks impressive, but also serves little or no purpose. I'd put this at the bottom to let the more important stuff move up.

The Facebook like and share line, is that more important than the threads?

The new post notifications doesn't need to take up a few lines of the best real estate of the page.

There is more to like on this forum than dislike by far, but the index page is Godzilla on a rampage.

Have you taken the time to filter out what forums you don't want to see? Also have you re-arranged them in the order you would want to see them?

I don't want to filter any of them out, and the ordering is limited. such that I can't put (forum talk) into another group, thusly priority becomes somewhat muted.

I don't think any forum allows you to rearrange sub forums? In fact, not too many even allow you to filter sections of forums, at least not on the 12 or so forums I frequent. XDA is the largest of all forums I hit, with the corvette forum being next in size.

I agree.. I actually like the new forum, but the index is crazy. This is due in a large part to that silly scripty font taking up so much room, but the regular text font could drop a size or two, and the white space could certainly be decreased.

I've rearranged it so I don't have to scroll, but as a result I never even see what goes on in my 'bottom half' of the forum.

I think it's time we have an intervention with Pekka and that font.. :) It's been there longer than I have (over 10 years).. it's time to let it go.. ;)

Pekka did state that several changes were made to try to make the transition easier, but there are so many changes, something like a font choice probably didn't have the intended effect. I say we go to WingDings! (just kidding, something like Helvetica or Calibri might be better)

I'm just wondering if sometimes it pays to be a little computer illiterate because I'm just
loving this new forum.

The only thing that irks me is the cursive font for the section headings. I liked it before where there was a "bar" that was a different color between them and I could easily read the font.

However not to big a deal. Just a minor annoyance.

I suspect it has been brought up enough that it might change in the future. The forum level font was just recently changed today, when you click on any forum. That forum listing had the same heading font at one time, but now it is a larger version of the rest of the forum listings.
