So here I am, taking the leap into FF. I've owned in order the following:

350D (Still got it)
700D (Sold)
1DMk IIn (Sold)
1DMk III (Still got it)
and now 5D Mk II (Picking up tomorrow)

So i'm just after some hints and tips for moving to FF from 1.6x crop or 1.3x crop.

Any advice?

It's one of those lenses that's great on crop bodies but really becomes outstanding on full frame. I remember when I moved from a 20D to a 5D (Mk I). I already had the 135, and then used it on the 5D.. it was like 'what?! this isn't the same lens I've owned this whole time..!!'

I'm sure you'll enjoy the 5D2.. It's easily one of my all time favorite cameras.

Thanks, I'm really looking forward to testing it out doing some lightpainting and long exposures in town! :) I LOVE my 24-70 f/2.8 on my 1D Mark III. Can't wait to see it on the 5D

135 from crop to FF had a HUGE noticeable difference?

I would have thought any change from crop to FF would be a big difference. I hear that the DOF is also more noticable at lower f-stops?

Much more noticeable at the wider apertures, and I'm sure the 135mm focal length when shot wide-open accentuates it. The drawing was a bit different (in a good way) on FF as well. Definitely a fun lens to shoot with!

I have only one big tips ...
Enjoy this camera ! it's a jewel, and with your 2 lenses 24 to 200 you have already all to have an excellent start ;)

For lenses, 135mm can be too long depend how you work and your need.
Personally i prefer the 85mm f/1.4 instead, it's just for me ;)

I can't wait to get shooting, Picked it up and to be honest it doesn't 'feel' as special as the 1D series cameras i have had... but i'll wait to see the images...

I have no real advice, but I think you're going to enjoy your 24-70 a whole lot more.

Took a shot with it earlier and instantly alot better! i'm just going to have to get used to having it FF and not 1.3x crop.
