Thanks! It was foggy and drizzly during my ride, which added to the background as well as the general feel, as you described. There is a ridge of tree-vocered hills in the distance, but in this image they are all obscured by the mist and general atmosphere.

I picked up a WCL-X100 II a couple of weeks ago and have not removed it. I love this focal length and the images produced.

+1. I've had mine on the X100T since I bought it. Plus, the quality of the adapter is absolutely tops.

I have GOT to get back to this thread... spending too much time with that X-T3 in-hand. Missing the greatness of the X100T.

Thinking about selling the V. The lens is great, but the rest of it I think is a downgrade from the F, and I have not been able to get used to the poor functionality. I CANNOT STAND how I have to go into the menu so frequently to change every little setting. To turn the rear LCD on/off used to be easy because there was a button on the back of the camera. Not anymore... I used to easily be able to change the shooting mode, WB, color profile and other things easily on the fly with the D pad. Now you have to go digging through the menu and it's extremely tedious. I have also found that the AF is WORSE than the X100F when you've got a filter on the thing. It misses many times when I don't think it should - and I am no stickler for AF. I was so frustrated with this camera this past week that I left it in the car and brought out my Canon 6D for ease of use and reliability. The IQ is fine, but it's just a huge pain in the ass to use compared to the previous model.

Perhaps slightly off topic, but I think I'm seeing a trend. I fell in love with my Canon 5D and was going to shoot it forever. But eventually it broke, I replaced it with a 6D, and have never been nearly as happy. The same is true with the X100F - loved it until I broke it. Replaced it with the X100V and am left disappointed. The same thing has happened with vehicles, too. Either I'm stuck on 'first loves,' or I'm just not caring that much about things anymore. There's something different in the air, regardless of the boring details. I know I'm not alone.

I've not been taking that many photos this past year, and It's somewhat frustrating. Instead of looking at different projects or things I could do to spark creativity, I'm looking at the gear. Bad idea I'm sure, however, I want that camera that gives me a spark. Another 5D/X100F type of camera that I can't put down. This X100V seems more like a gadget than a camera, and I think that's the opposite of what I want.

All interesting commentary. I find myself thinking that if I only had Classic Negative my photography would make a leap forward, but the sad truth is my gear is lightyears ahead of anything Ansel Adams used. He's a Master and I'm a hack. It hurts to write the words. :)

In terms of breaking stuff, dude, that means you are freakin' owning it everywhere. And it shows in the breadth of stories your photos show. That hourglass isn't flowing north, ya know. Heck, I'll be 50 in two years. F me.

But anyway, FWIW, I love those vintage auto shots of yours. That'd make a sweet thread to showcase your work.

^^ I once read an article in a magazine, so feel entirely qualified to comment that I think you just Fed the Rat with that amazing road trip. It's taking a nap, eh. :)

I feel compelled to post an X100 image, so here's an old fav from the West End of Pittsburgh.

My Aunt and Uncle used to live in the West End. This second image is from 1970-ish taken from their back yard. That's the old Three Rivers Stadium.

I just spent a week in Florida, but I didn't really shoot much. Gearing up to head north next week, so maybe I'll find some inspiration between now and then. Haha.
