its pretty slow in medium to low light. needs a decent amount of contrast to actually lock. In good light its fine. It reminds me of the non cross AF points on my 6D at times.

Thanks for the info

Of course, it would be folly for me to not add that for what the x100S/T is designed for the AF is totally fine. And with the focus peaking, if you are having hard time getting AF lock you can always manually focus. I just dont want anyone to think they would be getting af results similar to their DSLR in poor/low light conditions/

I am totally happy with mine, and while battery life and the at times inconsistent AF bug me, there are relatively simple solutions to those issues.

Thanks again. I'm looking for something smaller to.compliment my 5D3 that I can take everywhere for family stuff etc. I suppose my main concern is more that it wont af fast enough for shots of my son (he's almost 2 and doesn't look at the camera for more than a split second lol). I think I'm going to order one from amazon as they do a 30 day return even if you have tried it. I just need to decide if its what I'm after first

Thanks. It was really moving to be there among the crowd. It's an extremely meaningful event as Hong Kong is the only part of China that's allowed the freedom to commemorate the massacre every year. Over 130,000 in attendance.
