I understand that. Im trying to say you could not take the same picture with a gopro and not be able to tell the difference... maybe if we are just looking on computers. Even then the way the gopro handles the colors and dynamic range compared to a DSLR. But when you print them 10ft by 10ft such as the one attached below you might be able to tell the difference. If you where using it for personal use no question it would be dumb to buy a $2000 dollar housing.

Dude doesn't know what he's talking about, a gopro is a cool camera but doesn't offer anywhere near the control of a DSLR in a housing. I've got an SPL for my 50D and Sean is the man when it comes to service.

Where'd you get the multi-frame (hoping aluminum?), been looking for something similar.

Read through the rest of the posts...we came to a consensus. I wasn't saying you had all of the same controls with a GoPro...never did.

15-20 feet, these housings are rated to take a pounding in some of the biggest surf on earth but unfortunately not rated for depth.

Thanks. I was going to say that I hadn't heard them referenced before with regards to diving etc. that makes sense. Again, wonderful work!

They do make a different style of housing that is good up to 40ft I believe. Still not much but that's not what this particular housing ie made for.

nice shots. The print on the wall looks awesome.

as for the go pro bit. They do appear to produce really good quality images which can be printed pretty big. I don't use one as have a aquatech housing but have been surprised what some people have produced with them.

Still wouldn't get one to replace my main water setup though.

Agree for that reason.
I bring both 5D M2 and Go Pro while diving, and rarely I use Go Pro.
