Are Lowepros advertised as being American Made?

I'm a Tamrac and "Buy American" fan. Tamrac bags with a 3 digit number are American Made, while those with a 4 digit number are made in China. Quality seems to be held quite nicely, but it seems their most advanced designs are still done here. My 614 Pro is about 23 years old and serves me well. The 787 is just a few years old, found Used on E-bay for just $99 vs $350 New.

EOS 7D w/BG-E7 (3), 550EX (3), 430EX II, Vivitar 285HV, Opteka 6.5mm/3.5, Canon EF-S 10-18/4.5-5.6 IS STM, Canon EF-S 24/2.8 STM, Canon EF 40/2.8 STM, Canon EF 100mm/2.0 USM, Canon EF 70-300mm/4-5.6 L IS USM, Canon 77mm 500D Macro, Tamrac 614 Bag & 787 Backpack, Crumpler 8 MDH, 7 MDH, 6 MDH

No I'm pretty sure the lowepros are made in china. The difference being the ones mentioned in this thread were offered direct from china on ebay. Once the members here started getting them some compared them with genuine bags and found subtle differenced. It wouldn't surprise me if they weren't knockoffs from the same manufacturing plants that made the originals. Paul buff had that issue when he first outsourced the original PLM, the very same factory that made his were producing knockoffs of his designs.

Oh yes, they're totally fake products.

I got burned and I couldn't get the return. And Ebay wouldn't refund my money because I actually received the product, even though I repeatedly told them it was false advertising.

The zipper doesn't zip up cleanly, it always snags. I hate it, but since I paid 80% of the full cost of a real one, so I just live with it.

The Lowepro backpacks on ebay from China doesn't seem to be genuine and I wouldn't trust a counterfeit backpack on an important trip with expensive gear.

Here is an article discussing these Lowepro knock-offs.

Read your thread title again. The answer is in there.
If the price is too good, and from China, its a fake.

I visited Lowepro's site and asked them about Lowepros being sold on ebay. Here's the reply...

None of our resellers are allowed to sell our products via ebay.

When you see my camera gear you'll think I'm a pro.
When you see my photos you'll know that I'm not.
