Normally when I take photos of birds, I like them cropped in nice and close. For some reason this shot only worked for me fully zoomed out, showing the background and pole. Please let me know what you think!

don't pay attention to quality, i shrunk it immensely

I think you're right - it's gives a real feeling of isolation with the bird at the top of the tall pole and the rest of the world covered by the fog.


Some Canon stuff and a little bit of Yongnuo.

The quality is good for cropping in, but the post he is sitting on is a terrible subject to be cropped in on. Thank you for the feedback!

Haha, no, I got that. I was saying, too, that it would make for a less interesting photo cropped in. I see no benefit to cropping in on this photo. There's kind of a story here with the post in the frame. Without it it's just an eagle on some awkward platform.

I think my favorite part is the two tree lines you have, and how the eagle's "nest" sits right above the second line. Great composition! I wouldn't crop it either.
