I have a Sandisk USB 3.0 card reader like the one below:

IMAGE: http://www.cameralah.com/media/catalog/product/s/a/sandisk-imagemate-all-in-one-card-reader-usb-3.0-readerwriter-_500_mbs_.jpg

It works great over USB 3.0 with my Sandisk SD cards, getting 80MB/s+ speeds, but when I put my Sandisk CF cards in it, the light on the unit flashes blue and nothing comes up on my computer. These same CF cards work fine if I plug my camera into the computer with them in it, but not in the reader. Another weird quirk, when the CF is in the Card reader, my File Explorer loads really slowly, and Disk Management won't load at all.

The CF card will work fine, if I plug the reader into a USB2 port. If I unplug, and replug it into another USB 3 port, it will show up that one of the removeable drives has something in it, but won't give any other info, and if I try to go into it just loads forever and doesn't get anywhere.

I've contacted Sandisk Support 3-4 weeks ago and never got a reply, so I'm posting here to see if any has had this problem before, or knows of a solution?

hahaha...

I have _exactly_ the same issue. I bought my Sandisk usb 3 card reader some time ago and have never been able to get CF cards to read under USB 3.0.. I put the card in and nothing shows up, even tho the drive letter shows up. Works perfectly fine in USB 2.0 but usb 3.0.. nope.. nothing. Infact, I disassembled mine to ensure that the cable was making a good connection but nope, still the same problem.

At least we can now both confirm that it's a design issue. Mine will be going into the bin after I get a replacement usb3 reader. Thankfully it didn't cost me much ~$20..

Follow procedures (if applicable) at http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/12483 (external link) and retest.

I have the same reader, experienced the same issue on first use.

I applied the firmware update pretty soon after getting it and have never had any problems

Pity I didn't check back on this thread yesterday, spent ages waiting for 2x 32GB cards to copy to my PC via the 1Dx's USB 2 interface.
