The rating about image quality is more for the video than stills.
This iPhone is a piece of brick, not like the 5 or 6 model, mine felt down many time and still working well, no broken corner, not bents, or whatever.
I recently discover that it did absolutely amazing full HD video (i don't use phone for photography or video, but some time i took one or 2 pictures because i don't have camera with me, and frankly speaking it's not a camera ...
But recently i did some video for a friend about his new boat series (he's a boat builder) and after making some video with my dslrs, on the way back (all my cameras was packed to be protected from the sea water) i decided to take a video when the boat was at cruising speed, so i did it with the iPhone 4s ... what a nice surprise when i saw it on the computer, for me it was almost unbelievable what this tiny sensor can do, and it's "just" a phone
