two beautiful small birds Jeff
Very nicely composed.

we have a Grey Shrike-thrush that loves to tap on the window and sing at the top of its voice. They are extremely melodious and have a very strong and beautiful song
taken from inside the house

It is rather tame and unfazed by our presence.
This was at about 2 metres with me just standing there

similar with this at about 4 metres.
It had just flown down to where I was and sat on the gate about a foot away from me staring at me then flew off, returned and scavenged a grub in the post next to me and flew over to here

Fungi are prolific with the wet warm weather we're having.

Yes rose it’s the only olympus long lens I own ……. If I’m in a situation where there is not enough light I do have a Nikon 300mm f4 A-FS lens that I use with a adaptor .. setting the camera for focus peaking .it works extremely well and will even do b.i.f under the right conditions ..

Wow!

Thanks Rose, much appreciated.
I'm continually amazed at how that lens can perform given right conditions.

Good to see you posting.
How's your health now? You were suffering a while back?
Trust you've recovered.

Is New Zealand behaving itself with Covid?

I think I am finally on the home strait regarding my health. Had a couple of setbacks, and had to go back on medication when it was due to be stopping, but blood tests normal, although I still get twinges of chest pain. I assume that's from irritation of the outer heart lining, and may persist intermittently ......

Our health system is really struggling, although the PM and Ministry of Health insist publicly that everything is fine. Nurses are really feeling it, and the ward I usually work in was for covid patients for a week, so I didn't work. As a union delegate I have just stuck my head above the parapet and written a pretty strong letter, to senior management, so will see what happens ....

Random on my walk today. Very distracted as England were scoring big in the International Women's Cricket World Cup.
