I've tried to shoot the terns down on the Wairarapa coast, but have never managed a satisfactory shot. They fly too far away, and swoop and dive too quickly for me. So - good shots!

I've been lurking here for some time, admiring the work of you all, but unable to contribute due to serious health concerns. Some of that is easing enough that I can once again at least play at what I've enjoyed for almost 50 years.

I'd also like to ask the Olympus users here an equipment question. I chose the E-M10 mkII for its controls and tilt, rather than articulating, screen. Couldn't be happier with it, even with my large hands. The issue I'm having is with one particular lens: the 12-40 2.8 Pro. I bought Oly and Panasonic lenses, and of those 4 lenses only the 12-40 hunts and can be slow to acquire focus. Oddly, all 4 focused instantly on a Pany GX9 I tried, as did the other 3 on the E-M10ii. Anyone ever encountered this before? Or maybe I'm just looking at an incompatibility between this particular body and lens =\

Anyway, a few images from right out the front door and into the garden patch. Hope to contribute more as time goes by.

Lovely shots and welcome. The sunflower is particularly nice in both versions.

I have that lens and use it on M1 Mk ii and M5 Mkii. I don't think I've ever had issues with it hunting.

Hope your health woes are soon over, and you can enjoy photography again.

Glad you're finding photography possible again.
Trust your health picks up.

Can't relate to your issue as my 12-40 sits on a 5 2 or 5 3.
I never found it wanting in any area.
The 75-300 however is a really good hunter at times.

I like your sunflower. Beautiful colours and detail.

Look forward to more

Thanks Richard - I am pleased with it too.

Probably a photo of Maraetotara Falls, which originally was a five shot bracket, the converted in Nik Silver Efex. I didn't use to enjoy black and white, but have really warmed to it over the years. I especially love it for family photos, which I tend not post here, although there's no reason why not really.

Oh, and no pain at all from GAS, as, although I was expecting a rebate, it was more than I hoped!

Just took delivery of my OM-1, 12-40 f2.8 Pro II and Panasonic/Leica 100-400 last Friday. Headed down to the Thousand Springs area along the Snake River here in Idaho. Some great waterfalls. Nicely captured with the OM-1 and the Panny. I was quite a distance from them as I was across the river and on Hwy 30 so that reach of the Panny was remarkable.

Fantastic photos of magnificent landscape.
I love waterfalls and this one is a beautiful one.

I'll be interested in your Panasonic 100-400 experience.
I love mine on the EM1 2 and would take some convincing to change to Olympus.
I'm eyeing the OM-1 closely.
