Yes he's very cute. I was a wee bit disappointed with the second, as he was moving so fast, the focus landed on his chest instead of his eyes ....

Yes, we're okay here. Lots and lots of rain, but no flood damage to to houses that I know of.

An apple a day ..... this was one of a series of apple artworks made last year by local artists. Hastings is the "apple capital" of the area, and possibly NZ. My quotes .... It is one of the main industries in the area, and workers come from the Pacific Islands seasonally to assist with the crop. This one is permanently installed outside a local park, the rest were auctioned, and I don't know who bought them, or if they are still on display.

Info here for anyone interested. https://www.hastingsdc.govt.nz …re/the-big-apple-project/ (external link)

With the amazing Xiaomi Yi 42.5 f/1.8 lens.

Rose I find this photo mildly annoying , the base stone and rear fence line both tilt to the left ,and has the same effect as a sloping horizon in a seascape . Bar that it’s fine

Yes - I didn't notice it until after I posted it. And cos I was tired after work, just left it!

Lovely piece of sculpture. Very well done.
I'm thinking the lens has given it a skewed perspective more than camera tilt
Those vertical lines in background would be way off iff you made the base horizontal.
Edit. I just downloaded and it does straighten the base if posts etc made vertical, still slight "tilt" on base.

I was standing at an angle to the sculpture as well, which has possibly skewed things more. Next overcast day I'll go have another try. The shadows were hard, and why I didn't stand right in front, and there people in the background as well, and I didn't want to possibly antagonise them. It can be a rough area at times ....

I wouldn't be too concerned Rose.
There's enough around edges of photo to correct for straightness and trim. I did a quick one and looked okay.
Or just leave as recorded. Only got to please you

While the flood waters have receded a bit at Pakowhai Park, the island track is still impassable, unless you have gumboots or bare feet.
