Last one from the day, this afternoon again no Sun, normal here in the rain forest.
ISO 3200 with no denoise or sharpening--I made sure LRcc sliders all the way to zero.
Also figured out the PL100-400mm on the M1ii, I need to turn off IS on the lens, before in C-AF
it was acting wonky.

Sharpened and denoised. Working from jpg. Doesn't help to leave the UHS-II which I have set for raw in the card reader at home :)

My first shot with the M1ii + PL100-400mm.
Early morning, Sun had not crested the hill.
I'm new but officially in the Olympus club. Poof, my
better-half tells me she is very happy to be able to shoot
at ISO 2500 now, who knows maybe we can now push up to
3200 without worry?
RAW processed in LRcc and PScc-

Like it a lot.
I tried Oly before with the M10ii....menus did me in :)
Have used the GX8 for a while now=lots of keepers/BIF/carried everywhere everyday.
Then Photokina comes around and nothing (PDAF or Hybrid) announced by Panasonic BUT Olympus
already had PDAF in the mk I and announces the M1 mk ii, got me stoked. But the menus :)
Luckily Poof the she-boss in the house has lots of time with OMD M5ii and M10ii and can answer quickly
my stumbling points. She got me to the Super Control Panel and really once set up (not quite there yet but
getting there) the SCP (as you know) is the ticket.

Now the cam itself. Like all Oly bodies just crazy dense/solid. Card door is a bit whimpy but overlook that for the
UHS-II slot. Received a99ii couple of weeks ago and only UHS-I's if you can believe it.
Everything about this new Oly is fast/smooth/great buffer---but this morning in crap light with the PL100-400 I noticed
this every so slight hesitation in single AF BUT I had not figured to turn off IS on the PL100-400 yet, wondering if that
would have anything to do with single AF acquisition speed ?? Can't see that but I don't know.

Grip is really nice, reminds me of the grip of the GH4.
Heft with grip and PL100-400 is perfect, really a joy to hold.
ISO. Poof tells me (she also got M1 mk ii) it has 1 stop advantage over her M5ii. I easily see better ISO than GX8 but I'm not
technical enough to claim a whole stop; I'd say its a noise that cleans easily and I won't hesitate to shoot at 3200 and will push
to 6400 when needed. Didn't have to set the limit to 6400, I think it defaults there.

Shutter sound =like a purr!

Saw some of Poof's work with Pro Photo Capture, it is super! Full sensor, compared to 4K Photo Capture in the Panasonics it is way way better.
Sadly won't work with my PL100-400; tis only for Oly lenses. I do have 40-150pro for when I just have too, might be able to borrow Poof's 300/4.

EVF is great. Kinda A7Rii like. Screen/EVF refresh rate is great. I pulse shoot in 3's or 4's so haven't got near the buffer depth.

Video- yeah I hear is does video. That's all I know.

Now about those menus!

Thank you both. Not sure what you mean by 14mm but I used the 12-40 pro at 17mm (34 full frame)

thanx so much for a real world write up,the reviews i have read seem amazing, this is the cam others will try to emulate, can't wait to see more from you and more pros and cons,i hoped they would offer a kit with the 12-100 pro but doesn't look like that is going to happen.i only have the 12-50 and 40-150 kit that came with my em5.i have lots of manual focus m43 lenses though.

OK, I'm at the point where I can say I'm good with the Oly menus. After taking
a deep dive they are not as bad as I'd thought, not nearly as bad as some would have
you believe.
This shot first time getting around to using the 1.4TC on the 40-150/2.8. The rodent
was approx 25 feet away if that helps anyone forming an opinion on this lens/combo.
More I use the M1ii the more I love it. For the longest time my favorite feeling camera in
hand was the Sony a77ii..it has competition in the Oly.
