I sent the panasonic back Richard , I had terrible problems with actually seeing a decent image through the EVF it was dark and dismal compared to the olympus , I took 139 shots on tues and deleted 139 shots as I simply couldn't see the birds to obtain focus . went back yesterday with the olympus same spot ,same conditions and took over 500 all o.k .
now before someone else kicks off I could have been a dodgy camera ,it could have been my settings (doubtfull as I have had Panasonic before )or most likely the curvature of my specs letting in to much extraneous light

changed systems to MFT olympus omd1-E.M1X , Olympus 100-400 zuiko .., xiaoyi 42.5mm f1.8 . four thirds mmm-2 ,, four thirds 11-22.. and pergear 60mm f2.8 macro

Yes, I've read these viewfinders and spectacles don't always hit it off together.
Never had a thought to that, as thankfully, been okay with all Olympus and spectacles.
I don't have lenses that change in bright light. Not sure how they'd work?

I seem to remember the G9 has an accessory eye piece cover to help those with specs. I think it is deeper and larger?

a little exercise today to see how far you can really push the limits with olympus files ( before I go further also please note that I have taken off the micro adjust on the lens as the problem seems to have gone ) so hopefully I'm starting with a sharp shot anyway .. right so I got this blue tit on the feeder pole just before with a beak full of aphids to feed the chicks in the garden nest box . my intended shot was a fairly large crop but worked well , so I thought how far can it be pushed without inducing noise and can that noise be overcome . the first shot shows the unprocessed shot with noise intact size cropped to 1024 pixels on longest side .
the next shot shows how well it cleans up with a mix of topaz de-noise Ai and smart sharpening after in PS . quite pleased with the result .
the main bugbear being user error in this case as I didn't realise the camera was set to f11 for earlier macro work

Certainly amazing transformation.
Someone eleswehere commented De-noise seems to handle some conditions differently. I'd thought that and when he said suggest there's merit in such

Good to see you're back in action.
Lovely bird. Iridescent look.

Which camera does the 100-400 live on?
Certainly be nice for you people on restricted outing to have a bit more movement.
90 acres here has been helpful

Not yet certain Richard , I have had to re.install the micro adjust settings on the mkii with the 100-400 .to many oof files the other day .
And the lens does seem to perform better on this mk1 body as opposed to the other one I had . But it’s all nonsense till we can get out again . England has lifted lockdown and allowing people to visit places while here in wales we are still not even supposed to drive to go for a walk .. not even sure if it would be safe even if I could scary times
