this surprised me. I had been playing with ISO in evening light and forgot to change back.
I don't shoot (normally) on 2000 but when I looked at the images and ran them through DeNoise I was pleasantly surprised.

thanks Greg much appreciated.

Looking at the other in the fresh light of day I'm not sure about colours - seems to be tooo brown!
I did look at WB and camera setting and its Auto so not sure what happened there
Will revisit. The original is same.
May have been the drab day that messed with it

On a late Sunday morning stroll through Manly and Lota (both suburbs of Brisbane in Queensland), I noticed that, as it was a warm, cool, but still sunny day and COVID-19 restrictions are slowly being lifted, the farmers and craft markets are open, people are out picnicing and the food and coffee vans are out.......

Those really are beautiful seagulls. Love the second. Just hanging in air.

Now! Calamity struck today.
The Panasonic 100 400mm fell off the camera today and hit the concrete camera end first.
Squished the thing out of round. Nothing turns, works but won't focus. Barrel won't zoom.

Curious to learn more about other lenses adapted to 4 thirds.

I do have the 40-150mm 2.8 and the MC-14.
Had thought about the MC-20.

Lense is insured but $500 excess.

I rang repairers who said to send photos and they'd have a look and suggest something.
Could have to go back to Japan.
This is Australia

I've the 75-300 but upgrade as I wanted more reach
I'm used to having 400 mm.

Suggestions welcome re alternative thanks

Not impressed how easily they come unhooked!
It lives on EM1 2 and never gets taken off

I have no answers any where near under 5 hunnert. The problem is that lens works beautifully and the only other option IQ wise is the 40-200 f2.8-4 and a 2 tims extenders works well.

Looks like bite the bullet and spennd the insurance excess. Sorry boss. :(

I agree with Chris. It looks like the $500 excess may be money well-spent if you replace the lens with a new one.

Thanks. No problems with the excess. I'm committed to that.
The alternative I'd in mind was an adapted lens of other make that had excellent glass if such exists.
Was wondering what other glass would suit.
I do (did) love my 100-400

Or sell the EM1 2 and go Nikon Z something :p

as far as I'm aware Richard they are not repairable if the electronics had gone it would be a write off anyway , (how the hell did it fall off. as you have to depress the catch and then turn the lens) the other option and probably the most sensible one would be a new or used olympus 300mm f4 which is a better lens and will give more reach with your mc-14 .. depends whether the insurance will go in that direction i.e a write off . also depending on prices in your part of the world .

TBH its something thats always at the back of my mind .in case of lens failure ... if it wasn't for this damn dodgy heart I would probably have stuck with nikon but I cant manage the weight .. but they have there probs to my lad did the same as you 500mm f4 and camera separated company

back to recents , these were taken through a double glazed window as I sat on my settee . the feeder is a pine cone dipped in lard and seed filled a commercial product . the blackbird kept jumping up off the lawn to get to it
