Hi all, first post from this amateur. Just had a question regarding digital photo printing. If I were to start a small business selling prints of digital photos what is the printer to go with? I want professional looking photos, they will be for sale after all. Sorry if this has been asked, I just signed up and haven't had a chance to browse around yet.

Many people only print themselves when a job is time critical - it's often cheaper and easier to send files to a printing service if you have the time. Digital labs print standard sized prints on conventional photographic paper, also they have the equipment for large format inkjet prints and other things that require equipment that isn't cheap.

Ink for a high quality archival inkjet printer (such as some of the higher end Epsons and the new pigment based Canons that have just been announced) is extremely expensive, as is quality photo paper for them.

If you are printing for sale, you need to sort out the colour management in your workflow.
