Question about how images display

I posted a couple basketball pictures here at POTN, hosted by POTN. I can bring up that image and directly compare it to the same image displayed in Ligthroom, and the color temperature is clearly different by a small amount. Does anyone know how this works? I guess I expected that at least looking all on one monitor, they should look the same.

I can't tell, what browser are you using?

Are you hosting through a external website or are you uploading directly?

Firefox, and uploaded directly. I exported the file from LR, uploaded the jpeg and displayed the two side by side and they don't look the same.

The issue must be either with my browser or with POTN, because if I open the jpeg on my drive it looks the same as the LR display.

I'm not thinking it is my browser mainly because someone looking at the image hosted on POTN also commented that it looked a bit cool, which it does when displayed here.

Might have something to do with the compression of the new website when you upload it. I have not tried uploading directly yet as i host my photos on smugmug. Might be better getting a flickr or similar and hosting from there.

Unless its something killing it in the export settings in LR.

Maybe it's in the wrong colour space? Images on the web should be in sRGB. Also make sure the colour profile is embedded because still not all browsers are colour managed.

I'm having similar trouble and I use a Flickr account. Also, my images are only posting to this new site as thumbnails, even though I am following the new instructions on how to post images.
