Does lighting color temperature matter for RAW photos?

I'm using some Tungsten Kino Flo lights and want to swap them out for some warmer day light balanced ones. However, if shooting RAW, does it really make much of a difference whether the lighting is cool or warm if the photos will be adjusted in Light Room?

Thanks.

It only matters if you have 2 different color light sources. You can only balance one source at a time.

I blocked all natural light out of the room I'm going to shoot in, so will my light color temperature matter?

Thanks.

Color balance can mean color temperature on the Kelvin scale, where the yellow-blue axis of the color circle is shifted. In that case shooting RAW is easily readjusted.

OTOH, there can be gaps in the color spectrum of the light source, and that cannot ever truly be compensated. Some of the old fluorescent lights were high in green content and had gaps in the color spectrum. While you can adjust things so they SEEM OK, the gaps in color spectrum result in incomplete reproduction of all colors...and color accuracy can suffer even after you make the photo seem to be balanced.

If its the only light source then you will be able to correct the white balance in post. As Wilt mentioned, there is a potential for problems with the light source and its ability to deliver a reliable light source that is correctable.

That's why I always test new light sources before using them for a project.

Its also why I start every studio session with a shot of a Color Checker card.

going from tungsten to daylight is going cooler, not warmer ;-)a and as said, as long as you don't have mixed lighting, you'll be fine with color balance.

as long as you stick with real Kino tubes you should be fine with color rendition too, i think all of their bulbs are 95 or higher CRI. Yes you are missing a small part of the spectrum so for the absolute most demanding applications you might consider a different source, but it would be a rare case that you didn't get an acceptable image.

gone is gone. :p

AMASS apparently has some odd character issues that forced a change.

edit: i mean issues with apostrophe's in user names, not odd characters like me. Probably wouldn't be many folks here if there was a problem with that kind of odd character.
