Please critique including processing. Trying a few new things.

The washed out/aged look isn't my favourite - but your image is very compelling.

Great focus and eyes.

Lovely bokeh.

Processing nice and subtle.

The coat looks oddly vibrant on the right and dull on the left, perhaps tone it down a bit on the right.

Thanks for the feedback Martin. I'll correct the saturation in the shirt. For the processing, it was lightroom, photoshop and Analog Efex Pro 2.

i think that you can generally assume that a lack of criticism is implied approval.

Martin you generally nail it in a very concise fashion. Early and often. :D That might also lead to other's not repeating what has been said. I'm not at all suggesting you stop giving input!

I personally like the color processing. I think it's hard to get away from the idea that this is an instagram effect. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Photographers have always looked for ways to tweak reality and shifting color tones is just one way this happens.

Shawn, look up cross processing (film technique) or split toning which i think is the standard modern name for creating the effect. I use individual RGB levels adjustments to get there, there are simpler methods though.

shawn, essentially what you have to put in your mind is that color balance for the highlights, mids and shadows can be manipulated independently. In the above the highlights might lack blue, but the mids / shadows might have more, just a guess.

same for saturation.

I'm not a fan of the processing. The yellow midtones are a bit unnatural.
