Hello, I just yesterday got the word that I and other photographers will have the chance to photograph a new underground BMX park. Crazy right... But I will be shooting this park which is underground in an old mining cave. The caves themselves are absolutely huge. I mean you could fit a few football fields in it huge. So my question is does anyone have any advice as far as lighting goes. I have never shot any kind of BMX. So I'm not sure what to expect. The park will be open for the day just for the shoot, their looking to open in January. So any advice would be appreciated...

i would say take the 1D3, 16-35 and flash on light stand to put next to the feature the person is going on / off. Stand back and watch for a bit, see where riders are pulling tricks and then set up there. make sure your kit doesn't get in the way. Presumably there will be some kind of lighting in the park but always nice for a little fill flash / boost.

See if you can catch one of the riders and ask him to do some tricks over a specific feature in the park.

Always be polite and keep your eyes open!!

Yeah, it completely underground in a massive cave. It's 320,000 sq ft. Pretty cool to see
