Is this is a Heron (of some sort)?

Hey yall,

It's been a really long time since I posted here, haven't been out much to shoot. Brought my camera down to the dock today and spotted this guy. At first I thought it was a Night Heron or some type of young heron. Then I looked up Night Herons and saw they have red eyes, yellow legs/feet and aren't all black. So I looked and looked and looked and used various bird ID sites to try and find a match, but no luck.

I feel really silly right now but can someone please tell me what this guy is? I don't normally see anything other than Brown Pelicans and Anhingas at the dock and I'm still new to birding so any help is appreciated.

Nice. The only LBH shot I have is of one about 1/4 mile away, identified by a National Wildlife Refuge employee. This is much better.

Thank you! I saw him again earlier today at the same spot, but I didn't bring my camera =/ Doh!
